Surrey Warehouse Door Repair for High-Use Overhead Doors

Surrey industrial doors open and close far more than most. We repair springs, cables, sections and track on warehouse and plant doors from Cloverdale to Newton and Guildford.

Replacing a bent section on a large warehouse door

The short version

Warehouse door repair in Surrey covers broken high-cycle springs, frayed cables, bent sections and track after truck or forklift strikes, and worn rollers on doors that run all shift. Most of these repairs take a few hours, and bigger section or track replacements take a day or more. We quote before starting and schedule each repair so only one door is out of service at a time.

  • Doors that cycle constantly wear out standard springs fast, so high-cycle springs are worth it
  • Vehicle strikes are a leading cause of bent sections and off-track doors
  • Cloverdale and Clayton Heights see slightly colder winter nights than the rest of the city
  • Cold snaps bring a spike in spring breaks every winter
  • Repairs are booked around shipping windows, one door at a time

Truck and forklift strikes on Surrey doors

With trailers backing in and forklifts running in and out all day, impact damage is one of the most common calls we get in Surrey. A strike usually bends the bottom section or a strut and knocks a roller out of the track. The door then jams part way or won't close square.

In most cases we replace only what is bent: the damaged sections, struts, brackets or a length of track. We check the springs, cables and operator after any hit, because a jolt can loosen cable drums or throw the balance off.

If the door was struck and is hanging crooked, don't try to force it down with the operator. Shut it off, keep people clear, and send us photos.

Why Surrey doors burn through springs

A busy door can open and close many times an hour. Standard springs are rated for far fewer cycles than that, so on a high-use door they break early and keep breaking. High-cycle springs cost more up front but last much longer on doors that run all shift.

Timing matters as well. Cold snaps bring a spike in spring calls, and the inland side of the city around Cloverdale and Clayton Heights gets slightly colder nights. If your springs are original or have been replaced more than once, ask us to look at the cycle rating at your next visit.

When a spring breaks, the door is usually stuck half open and very heavy. Leave it where it is and keep forklifts out from under it.

What else we fix, and how the visit runs

  • Worn rollers and hinges that make a door shake or bind
  • Doors that drift down or won't stay open for loading
  • Perimeter and bottom seals letting in cold air and rain
  • Operators straining because the door is out of balance

We give a quote first. Spring, cable and roller jobs usually take a few hours. Replacing several sections or a full track run takes a day or more. We work Mon–Sat, 7am–7pm and plan around your shifts.

We also cover New Westminster, Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam and Burnaby.

Surrey: local conditions

  • Doors that cycle all day wear through standard springs, so high-cycle springs pay off here
  • Vehicle traffic around Surrey sites means more dented sections and off-track doors
  • Cloverdale and Clayton Heights get slightly colder winter nights than the rest of Surrey
  • Rain totals are lower than in Vancouver, but cold snaps still bring a spike in spring breaks

Common questions

Our springs keep breaking. What are we doing wrong?
Probably nothing. Busy warehouse doors cycle far more than standard springs are built for. Switching to high-cycle springs costs more at first and lasts much longer on a door that opens all shift.
A trailer hit our door. Do we need a whole new door?
Often not. We can usually replace the bent sections, struts, track and brackets on their own. If most of the door or track is damaged, we'll say so honestly before you spend money on repairs.
Can you fix one door while the others stay in use?
Yes. We take one door out of service at a time and plan the work around your shipping windows so freight keeps moving.
Do you work in Cloverdale and South Surrey?
Yes. We cover all of Surrey, including Cloverdale, Newton, Guildford, Fleetwood, Whalley and South Surrey.
How long does a typical repair take?
A few hours for most spring, cable and roller work. A day or more when several sections or full track runs are replaced.
What can we send ahead to speed things up?
Door size, rough age, panel type, operator brand if there is one, and clear photos of the damage and the spring and cable area.
